Endometrial cancer? My mom was recently diagnosed with Endometrial cancer (cancer in the uterus) so she is having surgery to remove her uturus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, lymph nodes, etc. Luckily they caught it in stage 1 and the doctor at the time said that since it was caught so early he beleived there was a near 100% chance to get rid of it all. This is all at the Mayo clinic, perhaps the greatest hospital(s) in the world. I began reading up on endometrial cancer so I could know what to expect for her, and in it its saying if caught in stage one, you have about a 5 year survival rate. How can this be?? Does this honestly mean my mom is dieing in 5 years or so, even though they caught it right away and the doctor beleives there is a near 100% chance to get rid of it? Thanks for any insight on this matter.
How serious is endometrial cancer? My grandma has endometrial cancer and I am so sad about it that when I even think about it I start to cry. Everyone in my family seems to be ok about it because she's only in the first stages of it. She doesn't know that she has it and everyone seems to think it will be fine after her surgery. Am I overreacting? Is this not as life threatening as I think?

She has had the symptoms for almost 2 years but her doctor told her nothing was wrong. How long does it take for this type of cancer to spread?
If someone has endometrial cancer and the surgeon says the cancer penetrated the muscle, how bad is that? The doctor said they removed lymph nodes when they did a hysterectomy to bisopsy. But he also said cancer had penetrated the muscle wall. I am wondering what does that mean. I am thinking it means it spread but I dont know how bad.
My mum has just been diagnosed with endometrial cancer? Shes 72 and had a polyp removed from the neck of the uterus last week, which has been tested as cancerous. They say that they have to perform a series of blood tests and an MRI tests, followed by a hysterrectomy. She's absolutely fine and taking it really well but I'm in pieces. They haven't told her anything about the prognosis just that she has to have a series of tests done and the operation. I'm so worried about her. I don't know what to expect. Please help and advise.
can you give me a scientific basis that endometrial cancer can occur at the age of 30? me and my co-researchers already had our case study defense but the panelists did not accept my rationale that endo CA commonly occurs at the age bracket 55-70 and only 2 to 5 percent occurs below 40. our patient was 30 years old when she had the ENDO CA... they said, why such slim percentage for below 40....can u help me?
Anyone with endometrial or uterine cancer - pink / white discharges? i' ve heard endometrial cancer symptoms include pink / white watery vaginal discharge. I wonder if that is during the menstrual period, or even outside the period?

Does this put you at risk for getting endometrial cancer? (Reposting in a different section b/c I received no responses.) If your mom had it at the age of 27 (and she had no known risk factors, other than her race)? If so, is it a "high" risk? (I read somewhere that 95% of women who are diagnosed w/ it are over the age of 40 and most are 60-70 so this got me thinking.) Thanks

Endometrial cancer/ cancer of the womb? A friend has been experiencing post menopausal bleeding. She previously had breast cancer and was taking tamoxifen to treat it. The doctor recomends she has a scan thing. Does this sound like it could be endometrial cancer?

HELP! STAGE 4 endometrial cancer? How long does a person have to live with severe stage 4 endometrial cancer? If the person has a hysterectomy, and the cancer spreads to the lymph nodes in the pelvic area, only a few months later, is that severe? Does it mean it already spread to other parts of the body? My grandmother is on 2mg of morphine every4 hrs and 8 ml of decadrone every 24 hrs due to severe pain in the leg. She is also receiving radiation treatment. Before the decadrone, she was in such bad shape (no appetite, constant pain, uncontrollable bowel movements), and the doctor predicted only 3 months. Then they put her on decadrone, and she looks like a different person, she regained her appetite and she has hardly any pain, but they have to keep her on the morphine regardless. I dont know what to think anymore, i dont know if i should be preparing myself for anything because she seems like shes fine, but i know it doesnt mean the cancer is gone. Please, any feedback is greatly appreciated. thanks!
cancer of the endometrium? Three weeks ago I had a radical hyseterctomy, following a diagnosis of endometrial cancer. I did not have an MRI scan (it was cancelled; scanner broken). I am now waiting for the histology/staging. (cells graded at three). And waiting. How long is the average 'wait'. Asked last week about results, told there was a delay.
Can taking Premarin by itself cause endometrial cancer and a mass in the uterus? My girlfriend took Premarin for hot flashes and night sweats for about 7 years. Now she has a "mass" in her uterus and the endometrial lining is 4.5 times as thick as it should be in a post menopausal 57 yr old woman. She has to go for a D&C next week because her uterus was closed and the doctor was unable to do a biopsy on her w/o her being in excrutiating pain. He was VERY concerned and wanted to refer her to an oncologist for this procedure (but the oncologist is booked over a month away, so the ob/gyn will be doing this procedure.) I know doctors don't like to say anything until it's confirmed, but do you think that the reason he wanted to refer her to an gyn-oncologist that he suspects that she has cancer? Or just as a precautionary measure?
Why are people so rude to those who are so sick? I have endometrial cancer and have to have surgery plus something wrong with my heart. I've been going through very painful tests and more to come along with surgery. I have had people comment that overweight people are more apt to get cancer and heart disease! This woman wasn't skinny at all and she was a member of my church. Another woman called me a name at the store because I was just using a handicapped cart because I am basically too sick to walk now. What is with people being so rude to sick people anyway?
Cancer Help? I am 24, single, and recently found out that I have endometrial cancer and bills have been piling up, because I've missed alot of work due to treatments. DOCTORS/NURSES HELP!! Endometrial Cancer, AFTER surgery AND radiation therapy.? 52yr diagnosed with cancer, did the surgery, did radiation therapy, declined chemotherapy. it has been 19 months since last treatment. she has lost weight, has a loss of appetite, weakness (cant go up stairs or walk with out stopping). She says shes tired from work (7pm-7am 3x a week, 3-11 every other weekend) It seems like she is in denile of having cancer and feels shes ok and that she is just tired from work. Complex Endometrial Hyperplasia with Atyipia = Cancer cells? I was recently diagnosed with Complex Endometrial Hyperplasia with Atyipia = Cancer cells and was urged to have a Hystorectomy. They said I had 6mons to a year to have full stage 2 cancer. Should I still be worried even after I had a hysterectomy?
Should there be any worries if I now have signs of endometrial cells 10+ after hysterectomy? 12 years ago I was diagnoised with ovarian cancer and went through the treatment and survived. I have been cancer free since, but my last pap showed positive for endometrial cells - my doctor said it could mean something, and he'd check in January. A friend who also is a doctor, said "I definetly needs to stay on top of that" It could be something serious or maybe just something to watch" So basically I do not know any more that what I did before. What are the chances of a very thick endometrial lining being cancerous in a post menopausal woman? My 58 yr old friend had a pelvic sonogram and the doctor said that her endometrial lining is 5 times as thick as it should be and is sending her to a Gyn-oncologist. Does this mean that he is pretty sure that she has cancer?

Does an Endometrial Ablation increase breast cancer risk? Thought maybe it would because . . . where would the estrogen go now except to build breast tissue since it can not build up the endometrial lining any longer. Thanks!
what does endometrial thickening mean ? i had a ultrasound done 5 yrs ago and i just found out that i had a 13 mm endometrial thickening , i was wondering what that ment . i know a normal is 5mm . i was just wondering does endometrial thickening of the uterus @ 13mm is the form of cancer? its been 5 yrs and i just found out now . and well i am quit scared at this point because i heard that if it goes untreated it can turn into endometrial cancer. and 5 yrs is a long time , so please anyone out there who had heard of this please give me some advice . i do go to my gyn 2morrow to find out my results of my new ultrasounds. i do have a tumor in my uterus the size of an orange its 7cm x 5 cm . and an enalrged uterus the size of a 12-14 wk preg. so any advice would greatly help me .......... i thank you all who answers with good advice . please no smart azz remarks please !!!
