  1. My grandma lived for 3 months. She had surgery too.
  2. I dont know. I think every case is different! good luck!
  3. depends if it has metastasized and how far along the cancer has progressed...maybe 3 months to a couple of years...
  4. if it spread to all the lymph nodes, probably about 2 to 3 months but everyone is different and everyone reacts to chemo differently.also what stages its in, some have been too live a long life when caught in the first stages.
  5. even though two people have the same cancer type every cancer is different because every one responds differently I wish you the best but factors of how far along is the cancer is big determination try RCF LITE its a new chemotherapy in very light doses and is very successful most dr. wait until the cancer is far along before chemo starts this starts chemo early with very lite doses look into it it is fairly new
  6. 8 years ago there was no effective chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer. I do not know what the protocals are today but with out surgery the cancer will spread to the gall blader, liver and engulf the pancrease causing organ failure after a while. my mom lived 5 months, but she basically starved herself to death due to her depression. Met a lady who had the surgery and is still alive after 3 years. with out chemo. 6 months to 1.5 years with out the surgery given innefective chemo, but once again, you need to do a LOT of research online to help you find if there is an effective chemotherapy drug for pancreatic cancer!!!
  7. Only the consulting physician can give you that information.
  8. This is a very tough question to answer. Not only because of the uncertainty, but also because of the emotion involved. Pancreatic cancer is one of those diseases that is usually only found after it has progressed very far and is quite aggressive. Chemotherapy treatment nowadays is very good at controlling growth and spread of tumors, and even helps with the pain and other effects of the tumor. The average life expectancy of advanced pancreatic cancer, from diagnosis, is anywhere from 6 months to 1 year. This is not an absolute fact, so there is still plenty of reason to keep hope alive. The best strategy is plan for the worst, but hope and FIGHT for the BEST.
  9. my sister was diagnosed on 7/20 ... the Dr. told me, not her, he does not have a crystal ball and cannot know when some one is going to pass. i asked him to be honest with me and tell me. his answer was 20 months. she had the Whipple surgery, just finished chemo and radiation and feels great.... regretfully that is the bad part of this cancer... no signs until it is to late.
